This week was a very busy week for us!
In Reading, we learned the recognition and sound of the letter N. We learned how to make an N. We also learned 4 new sight words. We continued our unit on non-fiction books. We learned all about text features and we practiced looking for text features in books. We also learned all about semantic maps and using the stories that we read ,we completed many semantic maps. In our reading groups, we continued to encode words and work in our reading centers.
In Writing, we wrote about facts we read in our stories. We also wrote about facts about ourselves and we made illustrations based on our facts. We shared our writing in Author's Chair.
In Math, we learned how to play Monster Squeeze and Domino Match. We had fun learning how to play both games. We worked a lot in math centers and filling in ten frames. We also did a lot of math activities in our centers. We practiced writing numbers 1-20. We also practiced counting the days we have been in school. We are also learning how to count backwards from 20.
In class, we made santa puppets, Rudolphs and we showed off our gingerbread people.
Our elf Jingle came and he has been leaving us special things in the classroom. He has been flying back and forth to Santa to give him his report on our behavior. We are very happy to have Jingle in class.
Reports cards are going home on December 4.
Next week: Parent teacher conferences…. Early dismissal .. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. 1:15 dismissal time.
